Nigeria is the most populous black nation in Africa with about 200 million people and a diversity of cultures and tribes. Paediatric dermatology as a sub-specialty is relatively new in Nigeria.

I am a paediatrician and dermatologist whose journey in Dermatology started in 2008 when I trained under an adult dermatologist at the University College Hospital, Ibadan in Nigeria. In 2013, I was a clinical fellow in Dermatology at the King Edward VIII hospital, Durban, South Africa and got my MMedSc Dermatology degree at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa in 2016.

I am a member of the Nigerian association of dermatologists (NAD), African Society of Dermatology and Venereology (ASDV) and the Academic section of the International Society of Paediatric Dermatology (ISPD). I have been a facilitator at the annual West African College of Physicians (WACP) revision course in Dermatology since 2016. I also have publications on paediatric and dermatology topics. Since 2011, I have been a lecturer and an Honorary Consultant at the University of Ilorin/Teaching Hospital, Nigeria where I teach undergraduate and postgraduate students paediatric and dermatology topics.

In March 2020, I joined the Sheffield Dermatology Research team as a PhD student with research focus on moisturisers, allergy and skin barrier. This has broadened my research skills and also enriched my experience in global dermatology.
